1 Year of War in Gaza
After one year of war in Gaza, we analyze the humanitarian tragedy in the area. One life taken every 12 minutes.
As the first anniversary of the war in Gaza approached, RTVE wanted to go beyond the cold death toll: to make the reader truly feel the scale of the tragedy. The piece starts from one very concrete fact -- one life taken every 12 minutes -- and turns it into the thread running through the entire visual narrative.
The way the reader discovers and comes to grasp the true scale of the number of deaths in Gaza.
I designed the full page structure and pacing, illustrating each scene and working closely with the developers on the animated and interactive elements. I led the art direction for the whole project, coordinating a team of four.
