Process of electing the new Pope
How is the process of electing a new Pope? We visualize all the steps that occur in the Conclave and how they must be carried out to elect a new Pope.
When Pope Francis died, RTVE needed to explain, within hours, a process most of the audience only knew from films: how a new Pope is actually elected. The challenge wasn't just informational, it was narrative -- we had to take the viewer inside the Sistine Chapel, step by step, without losing the rigor of the facts.
The narrative design of the news, explaining the entire process chronologically through the locations where the events take place, and especially the animated part where we explain the process of electing the new Pope.
I illustrated each key Vatican location and worked with the development team on the animated, interactive part, so the reader could move through the conclave's timeline at their own pace. I led the art direction for the whole project and coordinated a team of four.
