Rafa Nadal Retires
Rafa Nadal plays his last match and retires from professional tennis. He leaves a legacy of 92 singles titles, including 22 Grand Slams, 5 Davis Cups, and 2 Olympics. In this narrative, we review his entire career.

When Rafa Nadal played his final professional match, RTVE wanted to sum up, in a single visual piece, the 92 singles titles of a career spanning nearly two decades: 22 Grand Slams, 5 Davis Cups, 2 Olympic medals. The challenge was condensing two decades of numbers without the piece turning into a plain list.
Reviewing an entire career through a narrative combining graphics, illustration and data, so the reader experiences Nadal's career as a story, not a spreadsheet of stats.

I designed the illustration and the hierarchy of the timeline so the biggest milestones (the Grand Slams, the Olympics) would stand out from the rest, with a graphic treatment that blends data and sports storytelling.
